This city has given so much to me, and I have done everything I can to give back. Jessica and I support local charities and youth sports associations, and I have coached minor lacrosse in this community for the past eleven years. Prior to being elected to my first term I had been an active member of several civic committees, including Parks and Recreation, Traffic and Safety, Arts and Culture, the Community Planning Advisory Committee (CPAC), and the Advisory Design Panel (ADP). I gave back and got involved before ever thinking of running for council. Port Moody isn't just where we made our home, it's where we established our award-winning business, Squish Juicery. As both a resident and a former business owner, I am invested in creating a better future for this city.
I am often asked if I enjoy being on council. I emphatically respond with "it's the best job I have ever had" (except being a dad to my amazing daughters), and I mean it wholeheartedly. I am at almost every event, I have attended more conferences to learn and advocate for our residents than any other Councillor, and I will never turn down an opportunity to meet with a member of our community or a business owner to talk about how our city can improve.
For more than two decades, I have been part of this community, working side by side with you to make it more welcoming, equitable, vibrant, and resilient. I promise to continue to bring accountability, transparency, dedication, and honesty to Port Moody City Council, and with your help, I know we can make positive change happen again… together.
